PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation having excellent effect for preventing the roughening of the skin and improving the roughened skin and having excellent moisture retention. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation contains (1) hydrolyzed sponge protein in combination with (2) trimethylglycine or N-coconut oil fatty acid acyl-L- arginine-ethyl DL-pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid salt. The amount of the hydrolyzed sponge protein is 0.01-10 wt.% and that of the trimethylglycine and/or the N- coconut oil fatty acid acyl-L-arginine-ethyl DL-pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid salt is 0.01-10 wt.% based on the total skin care preparation.
