MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a constitution layer containing carbon black and having high rigidity, little powder fall and a low error rate even when high density digital recording is performed. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium has the constitution layer containing carbon black and a magnetic layer formed by dispersing a ferromagnetic fine powder in a binder on one surface of a non-magnetic substrate. The constitution layer is formed by applying an electron beam curing resin and curing the resin by using the electron beam. The resin contains an electron beam-curing vinyl chloride based resin having a polar group containing sulfur and an electron beam curing urethane resin having a polar group containing phosphorus. The electron beam-curing vinyl chloride based resin is formed by modifying the raw material vinyl chloride based resin having the polar group containing sulfur so as to impart electron sensitivity by using a monomer having an ethylenical unsaturated double bond, an isocyanate group and no urethane bond in its molecule.
