PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that reduces an output difference between odd number pixels and even number pixels. SOLUTION: The image reader is provided with an optical means (a halogen lamp 2 and a lens unit 8 or the like) that reads an image of an original, a solid-state image sensor (CCD 9) that receives optical data read by the optical means and applies photoelectric conversion to the optical data, an analog signal processing section (a sample-and-hold circuit 16, a black level correction circuit 17, and an amplifier circuit 18) that applies analog processing to an image signal outputted from the solid-state image sensor, and analog/digital conversion circuits 21 two each of which are provided to each of RGB channels and apply analog/digital conversion to the image signal processed by the analog processing section. Two kinds of input clocks with different phases are given to the two each of the analog/digital conversion circuits.
