The present invention relates to methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for increasing the effectiveness of online advertising. One aspect of the present invention provides displaying an online advertisement to a user; determining whether or not the user should receive a prize in response to the users engagement of the online advertisement; and upon determining that the user should receive a prize, collecting information from the online user and using the information to award the prize.
