METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING AND RECOVERING CHEMICAL ON SIZING ROLL IN CASE OF OCCURRENCE OF PAPER BREAKAGE IN PAPER MAKING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a chemical on a sizing roll without staining peripherals, remover the whole of the removed chemical and enable the saving of the material of the chemical and the prevention of polluting waste water when the chemical or the like on the sizing roll is removed urgently in case of the occurrence of paper breakage or the like in a paper making machine. SOLUTION: A paper making machine works as follows: in order to remove the chemical on a sizing roll, at first a gate of a side pan existing on a side face of the roll is lifted up by an air cylinder to quickly flow out the whole of the chemical into the side pan, and subsequently a series of operations such as the removals of the side pan, the roll and the like are performed according to a timer on which times needed for the operations are set. A method and an apparatus for removing and recovering the chemical on the sizing roll in case of the occurrence of paper breakage in the paper making machine are provided.
