PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor that can convert generated image data, on the basis of a display image of a display device under an observation environment into image data in compliance with a standard color space. SOLUTION: A display simulation section 101 converts the color signal of a received image into a signal on a uniform color space, on the basis of a parameter denoting the effect of reflection in a tube screen of a display device 104, under the observation environment, in order to convert image data generated on the basis of a display image on the display device 104 under the observation environment into image data on a standard color space, a gamut-mapping section 102 maps the color signal on the uniform color space with a color reproduction range of the standard color space from the color reproduction range of the display device 104 under the observation environment and a color signal conversion section 103 converts the color signal mapped on the uniform color space into a signal on the standard color space.
