PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing stuck materials on the surface of a roll provided in a plating bath, by which the performance of a device for removing stuck dross is maintained even when the device is continuously used for a long period of time, and to provide the device for removing the stuck materials. SOLUTION: In the method for removing stuck materials on the surface of the roll provided in the plating bath, which comprises scraping away stuck dross on the surface of the roll by pressing a blade 7 to the surface 4 of the roll 4 provided in the plating bath, a blade 7a having such a form that a following part 12 having a constant thickness is connected to a tip end taper part 11 is used as the blade 7 and the taper face of the tip end taper part 11 is pressed to the surface of the roll 4 provided in the bath with a constant pressing force.
