PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for protecting an incinerator, capable of preventing a dew-point corrosion and a high-temperature corrosion when the incinerator is installed and operated outdoors. SOLUTION: The incinerator has a structure in which a refractory layer is provided at the inside of a shell and is installed outdoor. In order to prevent the dew-point corrosion and the high-temperature corrosion due to an oxidative gas generated when a material to be incinerated is incinerated, a small air gap is provided at the outside of a furnace body, simulated to the shape of the outside of the shell, and a protective cover of the structure in which a flow of the air in the air gap is extracted to an upper part is installed. Accordingly, the method for protecting the incinerator, capable of dealing with all- weather all through the year can be provided. Thus, a calculation and an execution of a heat insulation in the incinerator of the structure in which the refractory layer is provided at the inside of the shell are facilitated. Further, the cover is provided to contribute to the safety of persons working around the incinerator.
