PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the abnormality of a process for spinning synthetic fiber, by which the abnormality of the process can easily and accurately be detected in the process for producing the filament yarn. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the abnormality of a process for spinning the synthetic fiber comprises inputting each filament tension value detected with a non-contact tension meter as a filament tension-detecting means into a control computer, calculating an average tension value and a tension variation standard deviation value, further determining a winding average tension value and a winding average tension variation standard deviation value from the average tension value and the tension variation standard deviation value, preliminarily setting thresholds for each kind of the filaments for each item, an then comparing the values with the thresholds to judge the normality of abnormality of the winding process.
