PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent character display tube, exhibiting uniform light emission property. SOLUTION: This fluorescent character display tube is provided with a phosphor layer 3, having a conductive film 3b at least on an interface between phosphor particles 3a and an interface between the phosphor particle 3a and an anode electrode layer 2; and the phosphor layer 3 is formed by coating a phosphor paste, containing an alkoxide solution which is turned into a conductive oxide film by sintering on the anode electrode layer 2 formed on a surface of a glass substrate 1 and then by heating and sintering it, after forming a phosphor coating layer by drying.
