PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature rise of a resin cap with a simple configuration in a fixing unit of an image forming apparatus which thermally fixes a toner image transferred to a recording sheet and which is miniaturized by disposing a power feeding member with which a heater terminal is connected and the resin cap for supporting the power feeding member in the vicinity of the outer end of the heating roll. SOLUTION: The fixing unit of the image forming apparatus is provided with: a heating rotating member Fh and a pressurizing rotating member Fp; resin caps 1 and 2 placed on the outside of the outer end ion the axial direction of the heating rotating member Fh; electrically conductive metallic power feeding members 3, 6, and 7 connected to the power source for heater driving; heat generating parts h1a, h2a; and metallic lead wires h1b, h1d, h2b, and h2d. The fixing unit of the image forming apparatus is further provided with: heaters h1 and h2 having the lead wires h1b, h1d, h2b and h2d whose outer ends are connected to the power feeding members 3, 6, and 7; and thermal shield boards 5 and 11 placed between the outer end of the heating rotating member Fh and the resin caps 1 and 2.
