PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device using a small-sized, light-weight and inexpensive developing head wherein the contact area of liquid developer with a latent image body is kept the absolute minimum, and also, the liquid developer is prevented from leaking outside a developing area, as for the developing device using the liquid developer. SOLUTION: A multiple stage nozzle 101 is arranged on the developing head of the developing unit, and a delivery nozzle 7 is arranged at the center part of the multiple stage nozzle 101, and a suction nozzle 8 and a leakage suppressing nozzle 9 are arranged on the outer periphery.
