An equivalent unit (EFE) can be taken into service via electronic input and output selector switches (EUS1, AUS1) via a combination unit (KOM) on the failure of a functional unit (FE1). The input signal (ES1) is taken to the equivalent unit (EFE) via a combiner (VK1) and taken to the output selector switches (AUS1), ...) via a splitter (VK2) and switched through only by the output selector switch (AUS1) of the defective functional unit (FE1).
