PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial flow pump that suppresses occurrence of cavitation and allows sufficient suction performance and discharge pressure even when suction water level is low. SOLUTION: Impellers 5a and 5b are disposed in two stages in a pipe body 1 of the axial flow pump, the first stage impeller 5a is rotated at a low speed to suck fluid from a suction port 2 of the pipe body 1 while suppressing occurrence of cavitation, and the second stage impeller 5b is rotated at a speed higher than that of the first stage impeller 5a to pressurize and feed out the fluid.
