PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely fit blocking bricks into a manhole in a furnace body in a short time. SOLUTION: A device for fitting the blocking bricks into the manhole, is provided with a frame 11 which is disposed at the outer part of the manhole 5 opened in the furnace body 10 of a hot stove, a carriage 12 which is arranged to freely advance/retreat toward/from the manhole 5 on this frame 11, a receiving table 14 which is disposed on this carriage 12 and has the receiving surface 14a curved as a similar figure as the almost lower half part of the opening shape in the manhole 5, a blocking brick pushing device 15 which pushes the blocking brick 18 constituted on the receiving surface 14a on the receiving table 14 arranged in the carriage 12 into the manhole 5, and a carriage restricting means 23 which restricts the shifting of the carriage 12 when the blocking bricks are pushed with the pushing device 15.
