PURPOSE: A terminal system of an ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) using a subscriber network in common is provided to use an Ethernet port and an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) port in common by possessing terminal functions of an ATM network and an ADSL network in common. CONSTITUTION: A physical layer unit(202) and a chip set(203) of an ADSL network transmit and receive subscriber's information. A physical layer unit(205) and a physical layer interface(206) of an ATM network transmit and receive subscriber's information. A PLD(programmable logic device)(207) connects a network of a chip set(203) of an ADSL network and a physical layer interface(206) of an ATM network by selection of a user and provides a transmission and reception path. An SAR(Segmentation and reassembly sublayer)unit(208) of an ATM network assembles data received from the PLD(207) as user information, divides information to be transmitted into an ATM cell type and then transmits divided information to the PLD(207).
