PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a push button switch reducing the number of components, facilitating assembly, and preventing the wear of a moving contact to enhance contact reliability. SOLUTION: This push button switch is equipped with a stem 5 pushing the moving contact 4 installed so as to be capable of moving up and down in a housing part 1a of a housing 1 to fixed contacts 2a, 2b, and a cover 6 fit to the top surface of the housing 1 so as to cover the housing part 1a, and a long operation lever 6b is integrally formed at one end of the cover 5 by extending and folding back a part of the cover 6 on the top surface side of the stem 5, a stem pushing part 6c for pushing the stem 5 by coming in contact with the top surface of a pushing projection part 5a of the stem 5 and an elastically deformable elastic arm 6d extending from the stem pushing part 6c are formed in the operation lever 6b.
