PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor capable of reducing an installation area sufficiently. SOLUTION: An outer peripheral part of a drive wheel 33 and a side frame 5A constituting a main frame 4 are arranged in such a way that mutual vertical projections are overlapped. A front wheel guide means 24 for guiding a travel locus 40 of a front wheel 26 in a direction conversion part of a step 23 is provided so that the travel locus 40 positions outside a travel locus 41 of step chains 18, 46 wound around a main sprocket and a driven sprocket.
