The invention relates to an evaporator for respirators, comprising a reservoir (1) for a fluid (14), a gas inlet nozzle (2), a gas outlet nozzle (3), and a device (6, 7, 12, 16, 17) for heating the fluid, which is configured in such a way that it can heat a small portion of the fluid and inject the generated steam into the gas that is to be humidified. The gas that is to be enriched with the fluid is guided through the top part (10) of the reservoir (1) across the surface of the fluid (14) which can be located in the lower part of the reservoir so as to form a simple, energy-efficient evaporator for respirators. The invention also relates to a method for evaporating fluids. |
