PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing geographical information by a Bluetooth technique and a method therefor are provided so that a user of a mobile communication terminal conveniently moves to a desired destination by receiving geographical information data about the destination from a geographical information inquiry device through a Bluetooth module installed in the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A geographical information inquiry device(100) stores geographical information data about a peripheral area, retrieves corresponding geographical information according to the request of a user, and provides retrieved geographical information through a Bluetooth wireless communication. A mobile communication terminal(200) having a Bluetooth wireless communication function requests geographical information about a specific destination to the geographical information inquiry device(100), receives the retrieved result about the requested geographical information data from the geographical information inquiry device(100), and provides the received retrieved result to the user.
