PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically excellent method with consuming little energy for bleaching pulp, capable of efficiently removing hexeneuronic acid consuming bleaching agents and included in hardwood pulp after removing lignin with oxygen, harmful metals decomposing the bleaching agents, and the like. SOLUTION: Hexeneuronic acid and the metals are efficiently removed with saving energy in a bleaching process of the hardwood pulp by treating the pulp at pH 2.0-3.0 and 80-85°C reaction temperature for 0.5-5.0 hours.
