The invention provides a light, thin flexible display of a high performance. A display element unit including plural display elements is laminated with a semiconductor film bearing an image forming switching element unit for driving the display elements. A semiconductor film is formed on a separating layer of a semiconductor substrate, and a switching circuit unit is formed thereon. Then the semiconductor film is separated at the separating layer, and an image display unit is laminated thereon to obtain a light, thin flexible display apparatus.
