PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing technique that reduces an area of a cross-section intersecting with an axial direction of an existing column after being reinforced.SOLUTION: A reinforcement structure 5 is formed by installing a reinforcing bar part on an outer periphery of a cylindrical bridge pier section, the reinforcing bar part comprising a plurality of main reinforcing bars 5a placed vertically along the outer periphery, and a spiral hoop 5b wound spirally on the outer periphery of the bridge pier section to surround the plurality of main reinforcing bars 5a. The reinforcement structure further includes a mortar part 5c covering the reinforcing bar part. The spiral hoop 5b is wound on the outer periphery of the bridge pier part with an inner diameter of the loop contracted to be smaller than a diameter of the bridge pier part. This reduces an area of the bridge pier part after being reinforced. Since the spiral hoop 5b is wound firmly on the outer periphery of the bridge pier part, reinforcement strength may be improved for the bridge pier part. Since the spiral hoop comprises a plurality of reinforcing bars, stress generated on the spiral hoop 5b is dispersed and distortion may be mitigated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
