PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has excellent adhesion to various types of ink, is excellent in alkali-releasability against ink of an alkali-releasable type and in openability of a label after label cutting and maintains the performance after duration. SOLUTION: This heat-shrinkable polyester film exhibits a heat shrinkage of 20% or higher in its maximum shrinkage direction when a sample cut out of the film in the square form of 10 cm×10 cm, soaked in water at 85°C for 10 second and pulled out, then soaked in water at 25°C for 10 second and pulled out is measured, has a peel strength of 6 N or less per 15 mm width initially and after a 30-day storage subsequent to mutually heat sealing at least one surface of the film with another at 75°C and wet tension of 45 mN/m or higher on at least one surface of the film.
