PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an optimum recovery operation to a recording head without complicating the mechanical configuration. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder which records on a medium to be recorded with the use of the recording head capable of jetting ink from a jetting opening is equipped with a recovery means opposite to the recording head for carrying out a recovery operation to hold a jetting state of ink of the recording head good, and a changing means for changing the recovery operation of the recovery means in accordance with a distance between the opposing recording head and recovery means.
