PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a section filter circuit for realizing a high-speed processing by reducing the time required for comparing processing. SOLUTION: The circuit is provided with a section buffer 103 for holding section data, pattern memory 104 for storing data patterns for sorting the section data, comparator 105 for comparing the section data with a data pattern, temporary pattern memory 107 for storing a predetermined data pattern among the data patterns read from the pattern memory when the head section data are processed, and comparator 109 for comparing the section data with the predetermined data pattern when second and succeeding section data are processed. The comparator 105 compares the second and succeeding section data with the data patterns except the predetermined data pattern when the second and succeeding section data are processed.
