PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an activated concrete molding, increasing the yield of farm crops by creating such environment as to make living things sufficiently exhibit their original functions by reducing acidified soil via an easy way without greatly changing current agricultural techniques. SOLUTION: The concrete is produced by using water activated through making the water contact to activated material obtained by being heated and pressurized in the presence of pyroligneous acid and/or bamboo acid. The concrete preferably comprises a pearlitic solidification-enhancing agent containing an aerobic microbial. A method for growing plants using the concrete is provided. Plants or crops thereof grown by the method are provided. A method for modifying soil comprises applying the concrete to soil. A soil composition comprises the concrete and the soil.
