PURPOSE: A channel equalizer is provided to obtain an equalized time-base signal suitable for a transmission channel environment through a simplified calculation. CONSTITUTION: A channel equalizer includes the first and second FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) processors(12,14), a calculator(15), a multiplier(16), and an IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) processor(17). The first FFT processor converts a time-base digital signal into a frequency-base signal through a floating point calculation. The second FFT processor converts an estimation signal of a channel estimator(13) estimating a transmission environment using a training signal into a frequency-base signal through the floating point calculation. The calculator obtains a reciprocal number of the signal converted by the second FFT processor. The multiplier multiplies the signal converted by the first FFT processor by the output of the calculator to output a signal, which is equalized such that the signal is suitable for a channel. The IFFT processor converts the equalized signal into a time-base signal suitable for the transmission channel environment.
