PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus whereby a user can simply select an imaging condition desirable to test out of a plurality of imaging conditions prepared in advance. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: an imaging condition setting means for setting an imaging condition under which an object is imaged depending on the state of the object; a first imaging control means for performing preliminary imaging under the imaging condition set by the imaging condition setting means; an image display means for displaying a plurality of images obtained by the preliminary imaging by the first imaging control means; an image selection means for allowing a user to select an image congenial to the user out of a plurality of images displayed on the image display means; and a second imaging control means for setting the imaging condition used to image the selected image through the image selection means to the imaging condition setting means in response to a state of the object and performing the imaging under the set imaging condition so that the user can simply select the imaging condition desirable from a plurality of the imaging conditions prepared in advance.
