FUNCTIONAL EGG CONTAINING LYCOPENE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method of producing a high quality egg containing lycopene by feeding feed containing lycopene to egg-laying hens is provided. The product has an orange color by lycopene while maintaining its original physiological activity and thus satisfies a consumer's desire. CONSTITUTION: Lycopene is added to feed for egg-laying hens, an egg containing 1 to 500ppm lycopene is fed to egg-laying hens. The content of lycopene within the egg can be controlled due to coloring effect of the egg. The lycopene is one or more selected from the group consisting of natural lycopene, synthetic lycopene and recombinant lycopene.
