AIR CONDITIONER AND ITS OPERATION CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To delay frost growth of an outdoor heat exchanger by heating an accumulator with a sheath heater, increase or decrease the calorific value of the sheath heater step by step on the basis of outside temperature and the like, and to prevent excessive energy consumption by the sheath heater. SOLUTION: This air-conditioner comprises a compressor; the accumulator which permits only gaseous phase refrigerant which is supplied to the suction side of the compressor and is flowed into the compressor; an outdoor heat exchanger for heat-exchanging the refrigerant and outside air; an indoor heat exchanger for heat-exchanging the refrigerant and indoor air; an indoor machine including an expansion valve; and sheath heater which heats the refrigerant and delays frost growth (implantation) of the outdoor heat exchanger by heating the refrigerant at the time of heating operation.
