PURPOSE: A data recording state preserving method of a write once disc is provided to record predetermined data in a TDMA(Temporary Defect Management Area) to prevent additional data from being recorded on a write once disc, thereby preserving a data recording state of the finalized write once disc. CONSTITUTION: A write once disc is inserted into a disc drive, and data is recorded on the write once disc(S310). If data recording area information changes, a system generates an SBM(Space Bit Map) including new bit map information, and records the generated SBM in a TDMA(S330). The system receives a finalization command for finalizing the write once disc from a host device(S350). The system copies a TDDS(Temporary Disc Defect Structure), the SBM, and a TDFL(Temporary Defect List) in a DMA(Defect Management Area), and records the copied information(S370). The system records predetermined data in the TDMA(S390).
