PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk mounting device which improves a speed in accessing data, and also provide a program for driving the device. SOLUTION: An FAT information detecting part 121 provided in a hard disk control part 12 examines whether FAT information is recorded on an SRAM 7. An FAT information writing part 122 reads the FAT information recorded on a hard disk HD and writes it to the SRAM 7, since the FAT information is not yet recorded on the SRAM when the hard disk mounting device is shipped. The FAT information written to the SRAM 7 is then forwarded to a DRAM 6, and a data reading part 123 reads necessary information according to the FAT information. When the FAT information is recorded on the SRAM 7, the FAT information written to the SRAM 7 is immediately forwarded to the DRAM 6 without reading the FAT information on the hard disk, and the data are read according to the FAT information.
