PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water leakage detection device capable of detecting water leakage with high accuracy even if a leakage location is not only a horizontal surface but also a curved, inclined or vertical surface, and measuring a degree of an amount of water leakage, and to provide a water leakage detection method using the device.SOLUTION: A water leakage detection device 11 of the present invention detects a water leakage position on a measuring target surface of an underwater structure and includes: a cover member 12 which has an open surface 12a and a water inflow part 14a and is configured such that the open surface partially covers the measuring target surface; a water flow detection member 13 which is disposed inside the cover member and freely moves in the presence of water flow from the water inflow part to the open surface; a camera 22 for imaging the water flow detection member; and a photo-irradiation part 23 which irradiates the water flow detection member with light. The cover member is pushed against the underwater measuring target surface from the open surface side, a movement of the water flow detection member photo-irradiated by the photo-irradiation part is detected by the camera, and thereby it is determined that a water leakage position is present within a region of the measuring target surface against which the open surface is pressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
