PURPOSE: An anode material and a battery containing an anode using the anode material are provided, to improve cycle characteristics. CONSTITUTION: The anode material comprises an alloy or compound comprising iron and at least one of tin and silicon. Preferably the content of iron is 15 wt% or less in the alloy or compound. Preferably the alloy or compound comprises further chromium by an amount less than 1,500 ppm. Preferably the anode material comprises the powder of the alloy or compound. |
