PURPOSE: A phone call system and method using a pre-paid card are provided to allow users who are not much familiar with a computer to use an Internet phone at a low cost, especially when using an oversea call. CONSTITUTION: A pre-paid card charged with a certain amount of money is issued(S201). When a client requests a call, authentication is performed on the client(S202). When the client is successfully authenticated, a speech path is connected between a terminal of the authenticated client and a terminal of the other party(S203). A rate corresponding to the amount of traffic is calculated and charged(S204).
