HANDOFF METHOD USING SUB-NET AND A SYSTEM IMPLEMENTING THE SAME, PARTICULARLY FOR PREVENTING GENERATION OF INSTANTANEOUS OVERLOAD AT A SYSTEM BY ENABLING MULTIPLE TERMINALS TO SIMULTANEOUSLY PERFORM HANDOFF

PURPOSE: A handoff method using a sub-net and a system implementing the same are provided to support mobility of multiple terminal existing in the same moving body and stably operate a system. CONSTITUTION: A BSR(Base station Switch Router)(200) assigns a sub-net unit IP address to sub-nets formed in moving bodies(500), routes packet data received through an IP network(100) to the sub-nets formed in the corresponding moving bodies(500) according to the assigned sub-net unit IP address, and authenticates handoff by units of the sub-net. The first to the nth FASs(Fixed Access Switches)(300-330) positioned between the BSR(200) and terminals(600-620) switch the packet data, and when handoff occurs, the first to the nth FASs(300-330) temporarily store the packet data to be transferred to the terminals(600-620) and switch it. MARs(Moving Access Routers)(400) assign an IP address to the terminals(600-620) to route the packet data received from the BSR(200) to the terminals(600-620), and request handoff by units of the sub-net when the moving bodies(500) move.
