摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate packaging by providing a laser device that is integrated on a semiconductor substrate, and to provide a tunable laser device. SOLUTION: The tunable laser device includes a semiconductor substrate 210; a Fabry-Perot laser 220 which is formed on the semiconductor substrate and has multiple vertical modes; and a planar light wave circuit 240 formed on the semiconductor substrate, which includes a waveguide 260 and a clad 250 surrounding the waveguide, and has a grating 265 having multiple reflection spectra, which is cut in a part of the waveguide. Light output from the Fabry-Perot laser is coupled with the waveguide, the grating reflects multiple lights having different wavelengths from each other, and the Fabry-Perot laser is wave-locked by one of the lights reflected by the grating.
