A method of making rice hard tack containing garlic which is leavened with baking-powder or soda is provided. The product has better taste than general hard tack and sufficient calorific value to be used as a good meal substitute. The rice hard tack is prepared by kneading 160 wheat flour, 40g rice flour, 20g sugar, 2g salt, 5g margarine, 24g garlic, 2g baking-powder or soda, an egg, 5g shortening or 70ml milk and baking at 200deg.C for 10min.
