PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge pump, fitted to a small package, by requiring only a few integrated circuit regions for realization of an integrated circuit. SOLUTION: The negative charge pump has been disclosed. The negative charge pump is used to drive a white LED in one application. The negative charge pump uses, preferably an n-channel transistor switch which enables a small integrated circuit region, and further uses a soft-start mechanism to start the charge pump.
