PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a reinforcing fiber for a fiber-reinforced resin, having a reduced equilibrium moisture regain compared to an untreated fiber, and improved adhesiveness to a matrix resin by treating a fiber. SOLUTION: The reinforcing fiber for the fiber-reinforced resin is produced by coating a silane-based coating agent on the whole surface of the fiber, and curing/solidifying the coated agent by the action of a catalyst to form a coated layer on the surface of the fiber.
