PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a simulation image with varied irregular colors such as freckles while maintaining a natural texture and color of skin by image processing using a computer. SOLUTION: The simulation image is formed by acquiring interior reflected light images and surface reflected light images in regard to the skin of a subject, separating the interior reflected light images into melanin component interior reflected light images and interior reflected light images other than a melanin component by independent component analysis, resolving the melanin component interior reflected light image into a plurality of spatial frequency bands, selectively changing contrast with respect to the melanin component interior reflected light image resolved into the plurality of spatial frequency bands, synthesizing the melanin component interior reflected light images of the plurality of spatial frequency bands to form a melanin component adjusted interior reflected light image, forming a synthesized interior reflected light image by synthesizing the melanin component adjusted interior reflected light image and the interior reflected light images other than the melanin component, and changing irregular colors of the skin by synthesizing the synthesized interior reflected light images and the surface reflected light images.
