PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an optical member such as a prism which bends an optical path without decreasing optical performance, and to miniaturize the entire lens system. SOLUTION: The zoon lens 1 includes lens groups of, successively arranged from the object side, a first lens group GR1 having positive refractive power, a second lens group GR2 having negative refractive power, a third lens group GR3 having positive refractive power, a fourth lens group GR4 having positive refractive power, and a fifth lens group GR5 having negative refractive power; and the system performs zooming by moving the second lens group and the fourth lens group. The first lens group comprises, successively arranged from the object side, a front lens group L1 having negative refractive power, an optical member P to bend the optical path, and a rear lens group L2 having positive refractive power. The fourth lens group comprises a single lens. The imaging magnificationβ5 of the fifth lens group for an infinite distance of an object satisfies a conditional expression (1): 1.0<β5<1.8.
