PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide angle photographing device in which no distortion is generated in the vicinity of a coupling portion in combining a plurality of images without increasing the device in size. SOLUTION: The wide angle photographing device has an image pickup element and is provided with a movable section capable of linearly moving in a first direction orthogonal to the optical axis of a photographing lens. The device is provided with a fixed section for freely movably supporting the moving section in the first direction. The device is provided with a control unit for moving the moving section to four positions within a moving range, and compositing image signals acquired by picking up an image at each of the positions to acquire a wide angle image signal.
