The socket has a holder (1) presenting openings (10, 12) at its end for passage of battery terminals and formed of two parts (1a, 1b) sliding with respect to each other, such that the openings are brought closer or spaced apart from each other. One of the parts supporting a joint casing (22) comprises a conductive module provided with wire clamps for connecting a series of conductors. A unit fixes the module to the battery terminals.
