A laser diode driver and an n-wavelength optical pickup having the same are provided to reduce the number of terminals for driving a laser light source by using a single common terminal for input and output. A laser diode driver(120) for driving a laser light source of an N-wavelength optical pickup that is capable of recording and reproducing on N types of optical disks using N types of laser beams with different wavelengths, wherein the optical disk comprises first to Nth laser diodes emitting first to N laser beams as laser beam sources and one front monitor for monitoring the intensity of laser beams, the laser diode driver comprises a current/voltage converter(121), and a selective driving unit(123,126). The current/voltage conversion amplifier converts a monitor current provided from the front monitor into a monitor voltage and outputs it as a monitor output signal. The selective driving unit selectively drives one of the first to Nth laser diodes in response to a selection signal.
