1396457 Pressure vessels NUOVO PIGNONE SpA 25 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 25305/73 Heading F2P A pressure vessel comprises a container 11 having a mouth provided with a first circumferential groove 14 in the internal surface thereof, a member 12 locatable in the mouth and having a circumferential second groove 13, which, when the member is correctly located in the mouth is opposite the first groove, a plurality of elements 15 movable from a first location wholly within the groove 14 to a second location (shown) partially within the groove 14 and partially within the groove 13 whereby with the elements in the first location the member 12 can be moved into and out of the mouth and in the second location the member 12 is secured in the mouth, movable means 16 for moving the elements 15 between their first and second locations and sealing means for effecting a seal between the container and the member when the latter is secured in the mouth. The sealing means comprises a ring seal 20 of trapezoidal shape located in a recess 21 in the container mouth and forced into said recess by a pressure ring 22 in screwed engagement with the member 12. The pressure ring 22 may be secured to the container 11 by suitable fixing means. A further seal is provided by 0-ring 19 located in groove 18 in the member 12. The means 16 for moving the elements 15 extend through holes 17 in the container body 11 so as to be accessible from outside the container and the holes 17 are sealed by screw plugs 25 and suitable packings 26. |
