1336911 Roofs K GOBEL 29 July 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 35702/71 Heading E1W A support for slabs, to space them above a roof to form, e.g. a terrace, comprises a base, e.g. 14 or 41, having a number of inclined surfaces, e.g. 15 or 37, on which are supported a number of wedge-shaped bodies, e.g. 20 or 42, means being provided to prevent these bodies from moving down the inclined surfaces. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the bodies 20 have toothed lower surfaces which engage the toothed upper surfaces of ramps 15. Alternatively, the ramps (31) may have laterally toothed upper channels (32), the bodies (34) having lateral teeth, Fig. 8 (not shown). The base may essentially comprise two ramps, as in Fig. 10 with two bodies, e.g. 42 on each ramp. The bodies may each be constrained by a vertical pin, instead of teeth, the pins engaging in slots in the bodies and in the base, these slots being in crossing planes, Figs. 12, 15, (not shown). A stirrup may replace the teeth on the bodies, Fig. 5 (not shown).
