A ship, and a control system and method for an energy storage system (ESS) are provided. The ship, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an ESS which is charged with the power generated from a generator and discharges the charged power to be supplied to power equipment; a receiver which receives the sailing procedure and real-time position information of the ship; and a controller which provides a charge signal or a discharge signal to the ESS on the basis of the sailing procedure and real-time position information of the ship. Therefore, the present invention improves power efficiency.
