<p>The retainer element has an open 'U' shaped profile bearer whose convex end faces the passenger at knee height. A fitting strut joins the upper and lower legs, the lower part of the strut being bent to avoid a sharp angle which could cause injury in the event of a complete deformation. The bearer is constructed of thin metal and has an outer layer of hardened foam plastic. The upper leg may be utilised as a parcel shelf and is provided with a retaining edge.</p> |
